Teams

The project associates two teams of researchers with a strong experience in the management and exploration of digital collections of music scores. The Vertigo team (France) is part of the Computer Science laboratory (http://cedric.cnam.fr) of the Cnam institute (http://www.cnam.fr). The researchers work on data management, with a strong focus on Information Retrieval and Data Mining for non-conventional, non-structured data. The team maintains, in cooperation with the IReMus institute (http://iremus.cnrs.fr), Neuma http://neuma.huma-num.fr, a Web platform to make accessible rare corpora of music scores. The Quebec team is led by Montreal researchers working on the Single Interface for Music Score Searching and Analysis project (SIMSSA simssa.ca), led by McGill University. Funded by the Canadian and the Québec governments, the project is one of the largest digital humanities projects in North America.
